  • 6/27/08 Blue Knob VFD dispatched for a tanker assist with Freedom Twp station 40.  Tanker 86-21 responded to the call off Cream Hollow Rd.  While enroute Command 40-05 reported the fire out and held the box to station 40 units only. Chief 86-01 had company command. 6 volunteers responded on the call.
  • 6/16/08 Blue Knob VFD dispatched for a possible brush fire at 356 Berkhiemer Lane.  Engine 86-12 and Tanker 86-21 responded on the call.  Units arrived onscene to find a small fire.  Crews pulled one 1 3/4" line to control the blaze.  12 volunteers responded on the call. 
  • 5/27/08 Blue Knob VFD dispatched for an automatic fire alarm at 144 Kittaning Point Rd Greenfield Twp.  Engine 86-12 and Tanker 86-21 reponded on the call.  Claysburg FD was also dispatched on the call. 
  • 5/15/08  Blue Knob VFD dispatched assisting Portage FD for a structure fire.   Engine 86-12 and Tanker 86-21 reponded to the call on Frankstown rd in Portage Twp.
  • 5/11/08 Blue Knob VFD dispatched for a lift assist with ems at the Blue Knob Ski Resort Condos.  Chief 86-02 responded with 4 firefighters to the scene. 
  • 5/9/08 Blue Knob VFD dispatched assisting Freedom Twp FD for a structure fire on Butler Hollow Rd.   Tanker 86-21 reponded with 3 and Engine 86-12 reponded with 3.  Tanker 86-21 arrived onscene and setup for rural water supply by dropping it dump tank.  Engine 86-12's crew assisted with interior structural fire suppression.  Unit were out for over 3 hours.  Portage FD was dispatched to transfer an engine to our station for standby.  
  • 4/19/08 Blue Knob VFD dispatched for a full house assist to Claysburg FD for a structure fire.  Engine 86-12 and Tanker 86-21 responded on the call on Ski Gap Rd.  While enroute Chief 70-01 reported on scene and held the box to station 70 only.  All units returned to service. 
  • 4/18/08 Blue Knob VFD dispatched for a brush fire near box 322A Knob Rd Juniata Twp.  Brush 86-71, Tanker 86-21 and Engine 86-12 responded to the call.  Crews were able to bring the fire under control in about 10 minutes.  Portage FD was dispatched on the call and responded Brush 83-5.  Command holding the box to .  Fire was contained to a 30'x50'  area.  Chief 86-02 (G. Gordon) had command.
  • 4/18/08 Blue Knob VFD dispatched for a brush fire near Kevin Ln in Juniata Twp.  Brush 86-71, Tanker 86-21 and Engine 86-12 responded to the call with 9 firefighters.  Claysburg FD responded  Tanker 70-21 and Brush 70-71 and Portage FD responded Brush 83-5.  Units used booster lines and hand tools to contain the fire.  Fire contained to a 60'x100' area.  Chief 86-03 (T. Helsel) had command   
  • 4/15/08  Blue Knob VFD dispatched for a tanker assist to Portage Fire Dept.  Tanker 86-21 reponded to the structure fire on spring hill drive.  86-21 arrived onscene and commenced tanker shuttle operations.  86-21 delivered approx. 10,000 gallons of water to the scene.  Crews were out 2 1/2 hours. 
  • 4/11/08 Blue Knob VFD dispatched assisting Freedom Twp Fd on a MVA at the Freedom and Juniata twp line on rt 164. 
  • 4/10/08 Blue Knob VFD dispatched assisiting Freedom Twp FD with a Tanker assist.  Tanker 86-21 responded on the call.   Additional crew was on standby for the area.
  • 4/4/08  Blue Knob VFD dispatched on the 86-01 box for an automatic fire alarm.  86-07 responded as well as engine 86-12 to the call on Kittaning Point Rd.  Claysburg FD 70 was also dispatched on the call. The Blair 911 center recieved a call from the homeowner reporting a false activation.  All units placed inservice at 01:35.    
  • 4/3/08  Blue Knob VFD dispatched on the 42-03 box assisting Imler Area VFD with a brush fire on rt 869 1 1/2 mile from Pavia.  Company 42 holding the box.  All units placed available. 
  • 3/24/08  Blue Knob VFD dispatched on the 86-01 box for a possible chimney fire at box 342 on Knob Rd.  Asst. Chie 86-03 (Helse) responded to the scene.  Second call reporting the fire out.   All unit were held in station.  Also dispatched (incorrectly) on the call was Portage Fire Company.  86-03 onscene reporting no condition and placed the box inservice. 
  • 3/09/08 Blue Knob VFD dispatched for an outside investigation.  Chief 86-01 responded to the call on Rt164.   86-01 put the box back inservice after finding nothing. 
  • 2/24/08 Blue Knob VFD dispatched for a tanker assist to Martinsburg FD.  Tanker 86-21 responded to the structure fire on Cove Lane.  Incident Commander Chief 80-02 onscene requested numerous tankers from Blair and Bedford Counties.  86-21 was out for approx 2 hours. 
  • 2/23/08 Blue Knob VFD dispatched for a lift assist with the ambulance.  4 responded in private vehicles to a condo on Little Pine Rd at the Blue Knob Ski Resort.  86 assited with patient extrication.   Chief 86-02 had command.  
  • 2/12/08  Blue Knob VFD dispatched for a tanker assist with Claysburg FD.   Tanker 86-21 reponded to the call at the former Sproul Tavern.   Command onscene reporting small fire one of the apartment units on the 2nd floor.    86-21 arrived onscene and was placed inservice by command. 
  • 2/1/08  Blue Knob VFD dispatched for a tree down blocking the roadway.   Location was 3/4 of a mile from the Blue Knob Fire Station on Knob Run Rd.    A crew from Co. 86 responded in 86-71 and private vehicle to handle the call. 
  • 1/31/08  Blue Knob VFD dispatched for a MVA near the intersection of Blue Knob Rd and State Park Rd.   86-01 responded direct to the scene.  86-31 went enroute with a full crew.  Dispatch reporting vehicle roll over with possible entrapment.  Claysburg FD was dispatched on the call for Rescue 70-31.   86-31 arrived onscene and confirmed entrapment.   Crew used Jaws of Life to remove the rear door of the SUV to gain acces to the patient.  Blue Knob EMT's tended the patient while EMS units were enroute from Duncansville EMS and Hollidaysburg EMS. 86 assisted with traffic control unitl going inservice. 86-01 was the I.C. 
  • 1/27/08 Blue Knob VFD dispatched assisting Claysburg FD with a tanker assist.  Tanker 86-21 responded to the call on Metzger Ln.  While enroute, Chief 70-02 held the box to 70 only.  86-21 returned to service.   A crew for 86-12 remained on standby until all units cleared.   
  • 1/23/08  Blue Knob VFD disptched on the 42-02 box for a tanker assist to Imler FD.  Tanker 86-21 responded to the scene on old rt 220.  86-21 provided tanker shuttle to the scene. 
  • 1/17/08  Blue Lnob VFD dispatched on for a MVA near the Blue Knob Ski Resort.  86-31 responded as well as Claysburg FD.   70-82 on-scene reporting the MVA in district 70. 
  • 1/14/08 Blue Knob VFD dispatched for an MVA at the intersection Rt 164 and Diamond Ln, Juniata TWP.  Initial call was for entrapment.  Chief 86-01 responded to the scene.  Box calling for 70-31 and also Rescue 83-3.  86-31 responded. Chief onscene reporting all patients out of the vehicle.  Chief holding the box to 86 units only.
  • 12/23/07  Blue Knob VFD dispatched assisting Claysburg FD on a structure fire on Right Hand Gap Rd.   Tanker 86-21 responded with 3.   Tanker crew assisted with suppression while 86-21 operator assisted with water shuttles.   86-12 held instation with a crew.   
  • 12/16/07 Blue Knob VFD dispatched for a tree down on Knob Rd approx. 2 miles south of the fire station.  Box calling for 86 and Claysburg F.D.  Captian 86-04 on the air holding the box to Blue Knob VFD only.  Brush 86-71 handled the call.  
  • 12/10/07 Blue Knob VFD dispatched for a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Blue Knob Run Rd and The State Park Rd.   Engine/Rescue 86-31 responded as well as an engine assist from Claysburg FD st. 70.   86-31 arrived onscene to find two vehicle with the roadway blocked.  86-31 crew assisted with traffic contol and patient care until EMS unit 417 decided to show up.   all units placed back inservice by asst chief 86-03.
  • 12/5/07 Blue Knob VFD dispatched on the 70-02 box for a chimney fire on Lefthand Gap Rd.  Engine 86-12 responded on the assist call.   70-12 arrived onscene and reported stable conditions, and retuned all units
  •  11/25/07  BLUE KNOB VFD DISPATCHED ON THE 42-01 BOX ASSISTING IMLER AREA VFD ON A STRUCTURE FIRE ON FEATHERS RD IN KING TWP.  DISPATCH REQUESTING TANKER TO THE SCENE.   TANKER 86-21 RESPONDED.   WHILE ENROUTE TO THE SCENE DEPUTY CHIEF 42-2 REQUESTING UNIT CANCEL.
  •  11/12/07  BLUE KNOB VFD DISPATCHED ON THE 42-02 BOX ASSISTING IMLER AREA VFD ON A STRUCTURE FIRE IN ST, CLAIRESVILLE BOROUGH.  ENGINE 86-12 RESPONDED FOR A ENGINE TRANSFER TO CO 42.   86-01 HAD COMPANY COMMAND.
